Every once in a while I get the itch to book a trip/vacation/getaway... It's not always feasible but there was a point in time where I said to Sean, "WE MUST GO!" When was this? It was a couple months before the boys arrived. I wanted to go on one last trip before we went from a family of 2 to a family of 4.
So how did I narrow down trip location? I knew I wanted to stay in the United States and in a place that did not have the Zika virus. After some research on locations, spas, flights, etc. I decided on Scottsdale, Arizona. I was looking for some sun and some relaxation time with Sean. (PLUS, it's a direct flight and relatively inexpensive!) Once I knew where we would be going, I looked at hotels. I stumbled upon a few resorts that have a great spa, but I also wanted to have good food and a nice pool.
I settled on the Omni in Scottsdale, as it was exactly what we needed. The Joya Spa and Salon is an award winning spa that is onsite and is extremely intimate, with views that overlook Camelbak Mountain. In addition to the spa, they are home to Prado, a premiere fine dining restaurant. They also had a little cafe that offered coffee and smaller food plates, perfect for a quick breakfast! In our eyes, we would never have had to leave the resort. However, we did venture out one night - I had never been to Scottsdale and I wanted to experience a little bit of the city. Another thing I wanted to do was head to TopGolf - only problem was that my belly was HUGE and I couldn't swing a club. ;) Thankfully I am married to a gentleman and he didn't head there without me.
Here's a simple breakdown of the steps I took before the trip:
Make Dinner Reservations
We enjoyed our time together, in fact I think we laughed for most of the weekend. It was important for our relationship, and we'll never be just the two of us again. =)
